trying to download pictures using EOS utility

I went into the "c:\windows\microsoft.NEt\framework\v2.0.50727\config" directory and renamed the "machine.config" to "machine.config.bad" and then copied the "machine.config.default" to "machine.config" and it worked fine. Nice , but when i try to rename it its saying "ERROR RENAMING FILE OR FOLDER""Cannot rename machine: Data error (cyclic rendudancy check)".

Run chkdsk on your drive.

What was the outcome of chkdsk? Check the event log for an event with source Winlogon, event id 1001.

The problem is that you do not have access to the machine.config file or in some cases the machine file. If you right click on the file and go to PROPERTIES --> SECURITY --> You will see that you are not listed there and if you are listed you do not have any access. So you need to give yourself full access.
